UNIVERSAL RECORDS RELEASES CHESS MOVES
The classic Chess catalog remixed by the legendary Keith Le Blanc
The idea for CHESS MOVES started when Keith LeBlanc ran into Marshall Chess of the Chess Records family and COO of Arc Music. It had been a dream for both of them to go deep into the Chess Records catalog and take the songs they liked, the ones that hit them the hardest, and create a new sound with the original masters.

Marshall and Keith had previously worked together at Sugar Hill creating the ground breaking single Malcolm X “No Sell Out”.
“We worked together at Sugar Hill when rap was just getting started,” says Marshall. “Then all the hottest rap beats were being produced by Keith, and his cohorts in the band Tackhead, Doug Wimbush and Skip "Little Axe" MacDonald. Working with them was a thrill; the creative process these guys was still there, what they put together just blew me away. I always knew we would do another project but it had to be the right project and twenty years later, this was it.”

There was so much music from Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters, and Howlin’ Wolf to Little Walter and John Lee Hooker, Roscoe Gordon, Memphis Slim and Sonny Boy Williamson, that Keith, Marshall and Marshall’s son Jamar got together and started listening to songs, songs, and more songs.
What they created are legendary Chess Recordings for a new generation.
